The national senior home-care franchise, Home Instead Senior Care, has kicked off a public education campaign, "Too Close for Comfort?" that aims to help families work out the issue of having senior family members move in with them in a multigenerational arrangement. Approximately 4 million people in the United States now live in an extended family situation.
Online at www.homeinstead.com, "Too Close for Comfort?" uses a "calculator," 15 questions to walk families through basic budget items, such as grocery and medical expenses, rent and mortgage payments, income and insurance costs for an additional family member.
